Land and money

Last Wednesday we had a new roof put on our home. It really needed it. As the workers were walking around up there and making enough noise to wake the dead, our nabour came over. In her hand she held a red piece of paper. It was a notice to say that the land we were on was going to be sold at auction. Apparently our land lady hadn't payed 3 years of taxes. So my husband and I deiced that since it was only 570 bucks we would go and bid on it. So we went to the bank and withdrew all the money we could. Three thousand dollars and change. Not much I know but for people like us a lot. So on Tuesday the day of the auction we went to the courthouse and tried to get it. Unforutnaly it wasn't meant to be. It was sold for seven thousand bucks. We later found out that one of the men who was bidding on it had a million bucks to spend. Makes me mad to think that people like that squash people like us so easy. But on a good note the guy who did buy the land didn't get a good as deal as he hoped. He thought that the trailers that are on the land belonged as part of the deal. I took pleasure in letting him know that no we own our home. Then let him know that the land was in a flood zone and not even a half acre. He then started to talk about maybe in a year selling it to us. So we put our money back in the bank. Probably a good thing we have car insurance and Christmas coming up. Not to mention a trip next year to Vegas for my sisters wedding. it just pisses me off. Here we are tiring to get ahead and we did try. But as I told my husband perhaps it is best we don't really like this area and perhaps something better will come along for us. I don't know
